Settling Sucks

Listening to her story was painful.  She had the package: the skills, the looks, and the drive.  That was then, this is now.  Her dream took place in a world that most of her friends would not recognize.  Twenty-years have passed, the dream is gone.  The agony is lessened with alcohol.  “Why?” she asked, “Why didn’t I do something while there was still time?”   “Time,” I said. “As long as you are breathing you still have time.”   She lowered her head and ordered another drink.  Living in a life of what could have been, versus what can be, really does suck.

There comes a time when you realize that you settled.  At that point, you can accept or reject. It’s your move.

It makes me wonder what happened twenty years ago? What is that
Cher song..."If I could turn back time". Life is all about choices.
