
Sigmund Freud said we have something called a Super-ego. It is the part of us that develops based on our experiences, cultural norms, and beliefs. This is a nasty little fellow that smacks us with guilt based on a set of rules that may or may not be true. I call it baggage. Every time we punish ourselves for a perceived wrong, our baggage gets a little bigger. Soon, we find ourselves emotionally and physically drained at the end of the day, due to dragging this big ass suitcase.
And to think, we have the authority to cut it loose but don’t…wonder why?
